FC St. Gallen Cup victory celebration captured from the air
FC St. Gallen's historic cup victory will remain in the fans' memories for a long time to come. Thousands of supporters made their way to Bern and created an impressive atmosphere hours before kickoff.
On behalf of FC St. Gallen, we had the privilege of capturing this special day with spectacular aerial drone footage. Early in the morning, we documented the fan march in Bern from unique angles. The striking images show the green-and-white fan community on their way to the big final.
To ensure these unique aerial images could be captured, all flights were coordinated in detail with the relevant authorities in advance. Both the Bern Cantonal Police and the St. Gallen City Police were on the scene with their own drones to assess the situation. Thanks to close cooperation with the police forces and the responsible local security agencies, we were able to capture the fan march and the cup victory celebration safely, professionally, and from spectacular aerial perspectives.
Following the celebrated cup victory, the celebrations moved to St. Gallen. We were also commissioned by FC St. Gallen to capture the cup victory celebration, attended by thousands of fans, using a drone. The aerial footage captures the extraordinary atmosphere, the fans’ emotions, and the impressive crowds that transformed the city into a sea of green and white.
All drone flights were conducted in compliance with applicable aviation regulations. As a professional drone operator, we hold SORA certification from the Federal Office of Civil Aviation. This certification enables us to carry out even complex operations at large-scale events in accordance with clearly defined safety guidelines and in close coordination with authorities and event organizers.
At large-scale events, safety is our top priority. All flights were therefore coordinated with the relevant authorities and supported by our proven operational plan. Thanks to continuous airspace monitoring and adherence to our safety procedures, we were able to carry out the operation safely at all times.
This mission in particular once again demonstrated the importance of our safety procedures. Thanks to our operational concept—designed in accordance with SORA guidelines and involving a pilot and an additional airspace observer—we were able to monitor all flight movements in the mission area at all times. Uncoordinated or unauthorized drone operations were detected early on, allowing us to adjust our flight operations as needed or temporarily suspend them. This made it possible to maintain safe operations at all times and defuse potential conflicts in the airspace at an early stage.
This situation has highlighted the importance of professional safety protocols at large-scale events. Only through clear procedures, continuous airspace monitoring, and close coordination with the relevant authorities can safe drone operations be ensured in such a challenging environment.
